The Bachwiesen, a residence for elderly people, is to be extended with a new building. Instead of placatively docking the new to the existing, it is rather a matter of searching for a suitable junction at which the repetetivly designed new bed building is to be planted upon the solid base. The free-standing balcony layer shows its constructive simplicity around the whole house. The slightly inclined columns form the character of the two-story exterior spaces.<\/p>\n

On the forecourt, a wooden pergola articulates the address of the house. Without damaging the old fa\u00e7ade, it creates a welcoming arrival point. Already visible from far, it can be entered from all sides and leads straight to the entrance.<\/p>\n
